About Us

While the name implies we are only woodturners, there is a whole lot more to the club than this one aspect of woodworking.

The club's main aim is to promote the knowledge and skills of woodturning and allied crafts such as  pyrography, scroll saw, carving, furniture and toy making, within the general community, while enjoying the fellowship that comes from that common interest.

The club also participates in various activities within the region and around Victoria by demonstrating the various disciplines of woodworking and through sales of members' work. The main shows are:

  • the Easter Exhibition at Bendigo TAFE McCrae Street;
  • the Bendigo Agricultural Show;
  • the Sheep and Wool Show (Bendigo);
  • the Australia Day Celebrations at Lake Weeroona;
  • the Alternative Farming Expo (Seymour); and
  • the Working with Wood Show (Melbourne).

To encourage the youth to take up this hobby, we hold hands on activities for the Scouts and Venturers where each participant can try their hand at the various disciplines of woodworking.

No matter what your skill level is from professional to just wanting to learn how to work with wood there is something for everyone here at the Bendigo Woodturners.
